About Wedges 'N Woods
Celebrating 28th season!
The planning for Wedges ‘N Woods started in the early 90’s when Dave Kelman dreamed of building a golf course. With the assistance of Bob and Dave Moote, noted golf course architects, the search began for a suitable piece of property.
They soon realized the more obvious need for a full-scale practice facility and found the perfect location, in the heart of Cambridge, on a former landfill site. Just off Hespeler Road, central to population and on a busy roadway for maximum exposure, the site also faced east to avoid golfers hitting into the setting sun.
Construction began in the fall of 1993 with McLean Peister, a well-known local golf course construction company and after lengthy delays, Wedges ‘N Woods finally opened late in the summer of 1994 – the first facility of its kind located on a former landfill site.
Wedges ‘N Woods continues to be a family-run business, with daughter Pat and her husband Bill Busby, at the helm and Dave Kelman still checking in regularly.
Over the years, 13 family members have been involved at one time or another. We strive to maintain a comprehensive facility where you can practice every club in your bag, receive instruction from a golf teaching professional or just have fun on our miniature golf.
2021 is our 28th season!
